meaning: derived from the name which means "the flower prince"

Identification: Red Dun Aurel Bacabello

Home: Originally, a vast land of meadows and wildflowers, where-in his herd roamed. Now, Akhalaia's sequoia woodlands.

Appearance: Xochi is a rangy, regal-looking dun stallion with unruly, curled mane and tail. He is a "pure-bred" bacabello, for both his mother and father appeared so, but it is believed that there may be some other breed far up the family tree which gave his family their wild eye-colors and curled mane/tail.

Markings: He has the common markings of his herd, the distinct aztec flower, in a stricking gold aurel. All markings are symmetrical.

Tattoos:None.

Adornments: Though he used to have many a luxurious stone, the only jewellery Xochipilli has in his current possetion is an ancient pendant on a long, gold chain. It is the shape of the Aztec flower, and has a jade center.

Abilities: None.

Backstory:

~"Insolent brute! You disgrace, you are not my son! Leave this meadow, and never return!"~

Xochi began life as a high-bred noble in a dignified, presigious herd that had their namesake from the Aztec flower, "Pilli". He was the son and only heir of the herd's leader, a strong stallion whom had mastered great powers over flora. Xochi's father was able to summon vines, and control all plants, at his will; as was the blessing of his father, and the father before him. The marking of the Pilli shaaman was a stark white birthmark, in the shape of the Aztec flower. When Xochi was born without this birthmark, his father worried... For without it, he would not be able to step up and take place as leader. Not only did Xochi never develope the white marking, he also lacked both powers and a tatoo, even upon reaching adolescence. His father always delayed the obvoius, though, believing that his son would indeed develop such skills and make him proud.

Upon his 40th birthday, Xochi was banished from his herd as an embarassment and a failure. He was stripped of all noble apparrel, but managed to take with him a trinket that had been passed down for as long as any of the elders could remember - the Pilli Pendant. Then he fled the meadow, and his father's lands.

15 years later, after having travelled much and seen even more, Xochi was weary of his life. He became careless and wreckless, chasing ill winds and challenging dangerous beasts. Though he was a strong and able stallion, his lack of both powers and a tatoo made the herds of Seiba reluctant to accept him. So the stallion became a traveller, and gave up all hopes of finding family and happiness. On a dark, stormy night, Xochi had wandered far, and yet did not take rest when he should have. Ignoring the exhaustion that tugged at his frame, the rouge Pilli stallion did not watch where he was going, and managed in a very undignified manner to hurtle over the invisible edge of a crevasse.

Not only, when regaining consciouness, did Xochi realise that he may have broken bones; the stallion was also stuck, unable to move from his current position. As rain began to pour, he bellow and trumpeted for help, before falling back into a weary, feverish sleep.

When he next awoke, the bacabello stallion was warm and dry underneath the boughs of an incredibly large tree. As he tried to rise, a voice cooed through the slight fog of pain - a pair of beautiful, rich brown eyes swam into view, and told him to sleep. Under Akhalaia's healing care, Xochi was tended for the following month. The pair became close, due to their previously solitary wandering life. They exchanged stories, and even after he was well, Xochi resolved to stay by her side - The Pilli stallion had finally found the family and love he craved.

Personality: Xochipilli is charming and noble. He believes strongly in chivalry and politeness, and is easy to converse with. An amiable fellow, who makes many friends and few enemies - But fiercely loyal to those embedded deep in his heart. He will fight (and fight hard) for justice, but prefers to sort out arguments with words and educated discussions.

Name: Malinah
pronunciation: (mah-LEE-nah)
meaning: derived from the name which means "little grass flower"

Alliance: Lina

Gender: Filly

Identification: Bay Roan Moss Bacabella

Base: Malinah is a leggy young filly, of rich pelt colors. She has her fathers unruly curls, but in her mother's ebony coloring. A recognisable feature of hers in the unusual but royal "Pilli flower" birth-mark on the left side of her rump.

Markings: Lina has a mixture of the 'classic' bacabello markings, and that of her father's tribe and their Aztec flower. Symmetrical on both sides, except for the birth mark.

Tattoos: Likely signed, but so far unknown.

Abilities: Malinah already displays incredibly power over flora. She is able to conjure plants and control them, even at this young age. Her powers will only grow stronger! She also has minor, secondary powers of healing, that are not nearly as strong as her mother's.

NOTE: Malinah is a mute. It is currently unknown whether she CAN speak or not, but so far has remained silent. She is still intelligent, and can understand speech.
